was byfar the most epic ride I’ve been on in a while.  Veteran’s Day couldn’t have been any better; riding around with a group of friends throughout Hawaii, you can’t possibly ask for more…

Some of the main attractions ridden to: Chinatown/Downtown for lunch in the business district, Pali Lookout, Waikiki Beach for the sunset, Market City in Kaimuki for some grindz at Gina’s Korean BBQ.

was held today at Wet ‘N Wild waterpark in Kapolei.  This marked the final carshow for the Helluva Rides series and also was the largest of the 3.  The showing was pretty good, not much new cars, but alot of the same with more improvements.  Aaron’s xB is always looking its finest with a perfect fitment and stance to complement everything else that’s so crazy about his car.

This show was also the first feature I have done using only a point-and-shoot camera.  Lets see if you notice a difference.  It was hilarious walking around snapping shots with such a small camera; if only people knew…

Just this past weekend, I had the chance to shoot 2 of the most elite camo green bB’s in the nation.  Some of you may recognize one of the from a previous shoot I did with my box, Aaron’s bB which has taken a new shape since the last time it was featured.  Aaron just couldn’t get enough of the bB bug and ended up redoing his setup entirely after laying low for a while.  New kit, new wheels, new suspension, new everything, it’s wonderful being able to see the transition take form through time.  Danny’s box has also been in the scene for a while, just recently bagged, his box only gets more rediculous everytime I see it.

It’s cars like these that gives me some hope for an already dissolved automotive scene in Hawaii.  Again no pun intended, I know there are alot of people out there that would heavily disagree with my opinion; everyone has their own voice.  I do wish the best for the tuner shops that are still around, it’s difficult to stay busy now days, and there’s only a few I know of who’s kept busy.

was always on my favorites list, I’m just really dissapointed I couldn’t do this car its justice.  For once I was really upset with the way my shots came out, especially on such a sick ride.  The sky wasn’t gloomy like it has been for a couple months now which really didn’t help..

I hope to reshoot this car in the future and showcase it to its full potential.

with his newly completed project.  Presenting his Revision LS430 UL (Ultra Luxury Edition).  It’s interesting that the higher end models of most luxury brands include OEM airbag suspension.  This UL is equipped with just that and has been modified with a piggyback controller which allows you to dump the car alot lower than the stock computer is thought to go.  It’s always been a pleasure shooting Samson’s rides after knowing him for over 10-years and seeing the quality he puts into every project he does.  Seeing cars like this makes me still have hope for the automotive scene in Hawaii…

is the new trend in this ever-evolving industry which results in beauty and perfection if done up right.  Kissing the lips of a set of perfectly spec’d wheels to mate flush with the fenders of a car, nothing could look more sick.  This is Aaron’s LS400, which is setting the bar for all the local VIP style enthusiasts.  It’s not everyday you see something so aggressive rolling down the street.  This is the true definition of “hellaflush” and the staff at Hellaflush approve of it ( http://fatlace.com/hellaflush/theflushness/hawaii-4-0.html ).

motors are byfar one of the nicest sounding engines ever built.  Add an nice high-flow exhaust system and you can hear how any circuit car should sound.  I was telling my friend Stephen ( www.insomniaq.com ) that his car sounds exactly like the Fast and the Furious Veilside RX8, it’s just rediculous.  Got to shoot this beast before its part out and retirement from Solo2 events as a top competitor in its racing class.  Some people might say the bumper is a sight for sore eyes, but I would have it no other way, it shows that the car was pushed and tested like how to real “race car” should.  None of this “mycarisfullybuiltbutneverdrivenonatrackbefore” bs that I see with alot of other cars in the scene throughout the years.  It will definitely be missed, one-off in my eyes as not many people have the eye or taste to build this car to my ideal liking.

was in Hawaii battling it out with Woes this past weekend.  It’s amazing how detailed his art is with only the use of spray cans.  It’s obvious the amount of years and experience he has as his piece was byfar the craziest of all the other artists spraying at the live session.  It was great to be able to see up close the process of his art as I doubt I’ll ever be able to see him perform live again.

Decided to have a follow-up photoshoot with one of the sickest boxes in the state.  Seeing the progression of this car to what it is now (and still going) has inspired me to retain some interest in my car.  I was on a one way road out of the scene until realizing that there is still some hope in the few that still care.

Aaron Martin aka Angry Woebots live painting session at The Contemporary Museum | 01.22.09 – 01.25.09.

I’ve always been a fan of his art back since I saw his paintings at Kicks years ago, it’s amazing what he can do with a brush.
